The first expansion in the Black and White Series, Black & White is based on Pokemon Black & White. The concept of starting from a new beginning was brought into the Trading Card Game, thus Black & White was entirely composed of Generation V Pokémon. Black & White introduced Ability, replacing Poke-Powers & Poke-Bodies, Abilities merged these two things into one single mechanic.
The set also introduced Full Art cards which featured artwork and holofoil covering the whole card. The borders of cards from Black & White onwards were changed to yellow for English print cards, with a new graphic for the Stage area, this was also moved to the top left with the evolution circle underneath and the Evolves from beside the evolution circle.The cosmos holofoil was replaced with a horizontal striped pattern and named Tinsel Holofoil.
The set has a few big cards to keep an eye, one of these being the only secret card Pikachu #115, out of the other 114 cards Reshiram #113, & Zekrom #114 are also ones to look for in this April 2011 Set.
