Back in January 1999, the first set for Pokemon TCG released, Base Set. The Trading card game featured Generation I Pokemon in this set. The cards can be seen with a distinct ‘1st edition’ mark, next to the artwork, with 3 different runs for this set - First Edition, Shadowless, Unlimited. First Edition and Shadowless cards have a thinner HP and attack text, while the unlimited run removed the 1st Edition Stamp and changed the copyright date to 1999-2000. The big 3 Pokemon - Charizard, Blastoise and Venusaur, have a special place in many Pokemon Fans hearts, and this set shows just how much, with these cards in excellent condition often going for tens of thousands in the market especially if they are First Edition Holo versions of the cards.
